标题：On contact 3-manifolds.

摘要：A contact structure on a smooth 3-manifold is a maximally non-integrable plane field in the tangent bundle. In this talk, I will introduce the description of contact 3-manifolds by the means of open book decompositions and contact surgeries, and survey some recent results about the symplectic fillings and the Ozsvath-Szabo contact invariants.

标题：On ends of finite-volume noncompact mainfolds of nonpositive curvature

摘要：We confirm a folklore conjecture saying that for a complete noncompact manifold of finite volume with curvature $-1 /leq K_M /leq 0$, if the universal covering space of $M$ is a visibility manifold, then the fundamental group of each end of $M$ is almost nilpotent. This is a joint work with Ran Ji.
