摘要：

I will introduce techniques to associate noncommutative algebras to situations in algebraic geometry, with applications. As a motivating example, I will discuss how to attach a finite-dimensional associative algebra to a 3-fold flop (a certain type of birational surgery), and use it to describe a symmetry of the derived category, as in my joint work with M Wemyss (arXiv:1309.0698).

报告人简介：

Will Donovan，丘成桐数学科学中心助理教授。2011年在帝国理工学院（Imperial College London）获得博士学位，2011-14年在爱丁堡大学担任助理研究员，2014-18年在东京大学Kavli宇宙物理学与数学研究所从事博士后研究工作，自2018年以来在清华大学工作。他的研究领域主要涉及代数几何、双有理几何、几何表示论、镜像对称等，研究成果发表在Duke Math.J、Proc.Lond.Math.Soc.、J.Reine Angew.Math.等国际数学期刊。
