Abstract:

Discrete Boussinesq-type equations are known as those two-dimensional lattice equations with third-order dispersion relations. In one-component form there are (potential) discrete Boussinesq equation, modified discrete Boussinesq equation and Schwarzian discrete Boussinesq equation. In 3-component (or 2-component) form the discrete Boussinesq-type equations can be defined on a quadrilateral and consistent around the cube. Discrete Boussinesq-type equations were studied by Frank Nijhoff and his collaborators in early 1990s, and then by Jarmo Hietarinta in 2011 from a “searching approach”. In this talk we would like to review discrete Boussinesq-type equations, including their multi-component quadrilateral forms, one-component forms, continuum limits, bilinear forms, solutions, etc. This work is mainly in collaboration with Jarmo Hietarinta and Frank Nijhoff.Wronskian Solutions of Integrable Systems.
