 Abstract :This crash course centers around some recent progress on the geometric analysis of collapsed Calabi-Yau manifolds. We will discuss in details the following fundamental ingredients in this direction: First, we will exhibit some new examples of collapsed Calabi-Yau spaces, which reveals new phenomena of collapsing and is valid for arbitrary dimensions. In addition to constructing new examples, for a general class of Calabi-Yau manifolds, we will also establish connection between the metric collapsing in Riemannian geometry and complex structures degeneration in complex algebraic geometry. Also we will introduce some recent development of the moduli space theory for K3 surfaces.
