Abstract : Resurgence theory has been invented by J.Ecalle in the early 1980s, to deal with divergent power series in the context of complex dynamics (iteration of analytic maps, as well as solutions to analytic ODEs). Right from the start, it was realized that the divergent series appearing in the classical, much older WKB method, well-known in quantum mechanics, were also examples of resurgent series. This line of research was pursued by A.Voros, F.Pham and others, with the so-called exact WKB method. Recent research has expanded in new directions, with new applications to problems pertaining to mathematical physics and geometry, thanks to the work of M.Kontsevitch and others. This talk will review the basic definitions and facts of WKB resurgence.
