Abstract : Differential K-theory is a new research field in 21 century which is motivated by the study of superstring theory in theoretical physics and can be regarded as the real analogue of the arithmetic K-theory in Arakelov geometry. In 2008, Gillet, Roessler and Soule proved the famous arithmetic Riemann-Roch theorem in arithmetic K-theory. In their proof, the properties of holomorphic torsion forms studied by Bismut and his collaborators play the key role.In differential K-theory, the same role as the holomorphic torsion form in arithmetic K-theory is the Bismut-Cheeger eta form. Recently, we systematically studied the Bismut-Cheeger eta form and obtain the similar results as holomorphic torsion forms.In this talk, I will introduce two models of differential K-theory, define the direct image maps through the submersions and the embeddings and explain the corresponding differential-Riemann-Roch theorem by using the properties of the eta form.
