Abstract: In this talk, we will introduce a Schur-Toponogov theorem in Riemannian geometry, which unifies and generalizes Schur's and Toponogov's theorem. And we will give details for a new proof of Toponogov's theorem  (in the large) in Alexandrov geometry (such a proof is inspired by that of the Schur-Toponogov theorem).
