摘要：

Image registration and segmentation are important aspects of image processing. In this talk I will present an overview of key details of each subject, particularly with respect to medical applications. This field is becoming increasingly important in healthcare, and a number of examples highlighting this point will be introduced. I will discuss a number of key considerations in this area of research, and detail how variational methods can be used to approach them. The focus of the talk will be on recent work conducted by Centre for Mathematical Imaging Techniques (CMIT) and the Liverpool Centre for Mathematics in Healthcare (LCMH) at the University of Liverpool, UK. The examples presented include landmark and geometric constraints for multi-modality registration, and 2D/3D contouring methods with applications to radiotherapy.
