题目： Finite linear groups and applications
摘要：
       Finite linear groups are important in group theory and representation 
theory with deep applications in the study of Langlands program, algebraic 
geometry, string theory and quantum cohomology.  We will talk about some 
recent new developments.

报告人简介：
张继平，北京大学565net必赢客户端教授，北京国际数学研究中心副主任，教育部“数学及其应用”重点实验室主任，教育部“奖励计划”特聘教授。主要从事代数学研究，在有限群及其模表示论研究中取得具有国际影响的学术成就。
张继平教授1998年-2008年担任北京大学565net必赢客户端院长、2000年-2007年担任中国数学会副理事长，曾获首届中国青年科技奖、第四届中国青年科学家奖、“求是”杰出青年奖、教育部科技进步一等奖、国家自然科学奖、陈省身数学奖，并荣获“国家级有突出贡献的中青年专家”、“全国优秀科技工作者”、“全国五一劳动奖章”和“北京十大杰出青年”等称号。
